My heartrate was 170 Monday while HOLDING the medicine ball so my partner could punch it! It was higher when I was punching. Either I’m way out of shape or I got a great core workout.
I like the sound of “test subjects”!! I am all for experiments.
I’ve been collecting data on my workouts since new years, and have found that for
Core Performance:
- Avg Heartrate = 155
- Avg Calories/hour = 672!!
Kettlebell Lifting:
- Avg Heartrate = 135
- Avg Calories/hour = 520.
I have a feeling that the folks hoisting the heavier bells have even higher numbers.
I haven’t found anything that can top these workouts. I’ve got to go with Jared, those sleds yesterday pushed us to the limit!

Was it the chariot games during Battle Zone yesturday? I was plastered to the pavement in the fetal position after that one.
according to my hr watch, my kbell workouts have the highest avg heartrate and most calories burned… even more that Jess’s sat spin class.
But then I’ve never been to the core class where you get split up into teams and compete with each other.

Well then, we need a test subject(s) who can do spin, kbs, and battle zone all in one week to compare & report the stats. Volunteers?
