From USA Judo (Oct. 18, 2009): “After taking much of this season off to rehabilitate an injury, Shiraishi’s gold medal in the 48kg division was her second international medal in less than a month.
A silver medalist at the U.S. Open in September, Shiraishi dominated her opponents in Canada, winning each of her four matches by ippon, including a victory over 2009 Senior Nationals bronze medalist Angela Creutzberger (Ballston, N.Y. / USA Judo National Training Site at the Jason Morris Judo Center).
Shiraishi’s gold medal also will improve her ranking in the division, moving her up to the #1 slot on the USA Judo Senior Elite National Roster.”
Special thanks to Coach Sayaka Matsumoto for being by her side and strategizing each match, Coach Thomas Henry for his excellent S&C programming, and everyone at the IC for their continued support. We are edging closer to the 2012 Olympic games!

Go Annie!!! Congratulations on your success. It must be all that biscotti
How cool is that? Congratulations Annie! Well done!
Big Congrats!
Wohoo Annie! Congratulations on your achievements. You are amazing!
fantastic! We are all fortunate to train with you- esp the kids, they’ll be their own fan club in 2012! You are also a great role model for the kids in pursuing your dreams with hard work and determination. Thanks for sharing your time with us.
Woohoo, congratulations Annie!
You go Annie!
Annie – you are so awesome! Congratulations!
I met Annie after starting at the Ice Chamber. She was very welcoming to me. After completing one of my start-package sessions with Danielle, Annie asked me if I’d had a good workout. I’m sure that she had noticed that Danielle was kicking my butt, but in her own way it was telling me that it was worth it. She has also been a wonderful source of encouragement during boot camp sessions. She is an inspiration to all and a impressive young lady.
Congratulations Annie!
Way to go, Annie! And you were back at work on Tuesday like nothin’ happened. I am thrilled for you.
You go on girl, with your SUPER BAD self! Congratulations, I am constantly so impressed by you!
Congratulations Annie!
Thank you EVERYONE for your continuing support in my journey. I used to feel as if lifting weights was more of a chore then a benefiting factor in my training until I started working out at IC. All the trainers and trainees are awesome: you all make the gym a positive environment and that helps motivate me in my training. Thank you again.
