My grandmother was born in Riga, Latvia and brought her family to the United States in 1949. Not a great time to be Latvian/Russian immigrants in Southern Louisiana. Sixty years later, Russian Kettlebell training is transforming my life. I've worked many years to regain health after a nearly fatal disease only to be sidelined by complications following an emergency C-section. I have a beautiful, almost 4 year old daughter who grabs her stuffed animals and imitates her mom lifting Kettlebells. I'm imagining taking her to the church where her great-grandmother was baptised, married and worshipped, then her watching me compete lifting Kettlebells.
