Team IC heads for World Championships
Congratulations to Surya, Jess, Sara, and Maya for qualifying into the WKC World Championships later this fall. Each woman tested with the 16kg bell in the Long Cycle division this weekend, and was judged by the Chief Advisor of the World Kettlebell Club, Valery Fedorenko. We are also extremely happy to report that the “ICKB Girls” is the only team in the nation to hold CMS rankings in both Biathlon and Long Cycle!

Thank you for the encouraging comments and well wishes of support here! This event was pretty cool on many levels. Bear’s technical showing was incredible… so crisp and explosive and elegant. Jessica surprised everyone by arriving perky, full of positive energy, and ready to step on the platform Sunday morning despite not having a wink of rest. The videos are deceiving because you can’t see the behind the scenes sacrifices that lifters like Jess had to make in order to qualify for Worlds. We’ve also never had our sets officially judged by Cate and Valery so of course this added a new level of anxiety we had not experienced before. Luckily, Steve is a strict coach and the same standards that we uphold in training were applied on test day.
We continue to learn from the best. Thank you Cate and Valery for another unforgettable weekend.
Congrats to all of you. We know you’ll ROCK the world championships with your amazing strength, style and grace.
A huge thanks and hug to all of you for supporting us in every way. It does take a village to make this happen. We couldn’t have asked for a better family. We promise to continue to train hard. Keep your fingers crossed
Oh I am blushing! It was a wonderful weekend and a truly great experience. I think it re-affirmed our love/passion for kettlebells (driving all night, time away from the family, etc)… I couldn’t have asked to be on a better team or better coaches. I feel very lucky.
