A Spring Feast

IC Bootcamper and Chef, Melissa Fernandez, designed a unique culinary experience for the students in her first “Cooking in the Courtyard” series this past weekend.  Melissa skillfully crafted a curriculum which included healthy, quick, and delicious recipes.  She also provided us excellent tips on food preparation using fresh local ingredients and a “learn-by-doing” format within the intimate setting of her beautiful courtyard.

This video captures some of the sights and sounds, but none of the amazing smells or yummy flavors of the afternoon.  Come experience them for yourself!  Her first class sold-out immediately.  If you are interested in registering for her 2nd class or having Melissa help you with your next special occasion, please sign-up at the gym or contact info@icechamber.com for a calendar of her upcoming events.

For those of who are signed up for the second class, you are in for a real treat. Melissa and Mark did a terrific job organizing this class!!!

It was really a wonderful afternoon. In typical IC mindset, we all did some kinda of workout before coming to class (core class, runnning and kettlebell). Fabulous cooking tips, great food and wonderful company. I enjoyed meeting some of the 7AM bootcampers.

Steve and Maya, great job always capturing the moment :)

Great class Melissa. I learned a bunch. I feel more confident cooking vegetables now. And I’m the meat eating type ;-)

That was really fun! The folks who are signed up for this coming weekend are in for such a treat. Melissa is a natural! She and her husband – Wine Guru Mark- make a fantastic pair to cook with, eat with , and learn from.

Melissa, your event exceeded my expectations in every way. This was one of the best classes I certainly have ever attended! It was well organized, perfectly paced, entertaining, and extremely informative (for beginners and those with lots of kitchen experience). Please sign me up for the wood burning class, but I think it’s on the same day as the WKC fitness cert. If you do two back to back lessons like you’re doing this month, please sign me up for the second one.

Thanks again for pouring your passion into your courtyard classroom! I loooved it.
