Working on Snatch Technique

The snatch is one of the most intricate movements in the KB arsenal. There are many ways to implement the exercise, and YouTube has plenty of KB snatch videos to prove it, but we’re following the advice of the greats like Valery, Catherine, Kevin and Bonnie on this one. Since so many of you have personally asked about improving the KB snatch, here is a technical visual reference from someone you know.

Thanks to Mike Mahler for uploading this sneak peek of his Collision Course DVD.

Enjoy,
Steven

    Way to Represent Maya!!!

That is an awesome demonstration. I’m glad you guys attended so you could show them how it is done. I think the real telling thing is watching a small/light woman move a respectable weight with such fluidity and precision. Very nice!

    CI,

What an honor it is to have you bless our blog! It’s a rarity, to say the least, to receive compliments from the WKC Women’s Absolute Champion and the American Record Holder in the snatch (especially on the technicalities of the snatch).

Thank you for the support and motivation!

Maya’s demonstration of the snatch was awesome and it was great to have Maya and Steve at the course. In fact Maya is by far the most impressive kettlebell lady that I have seen. She has the rare combination of being a great coach, a great trainee, and looks great. Maya definitely needs to make a KB DVD targeted towards women.

Thank you for the incredible feedback. The art of kettlebell lifting is my favorite aspect of the sport. I hope my sarcasm was 100% transparent when I joked with Mike that it was “all good” to go 9 more minutes. I was mortified! It’s definitely not all good (unless you’re C-Imes).

I long for the day my snatching is that graceful.

And yes, Maya definitely needs to make a KB DVD.

    Shari,

That’s a very nice thing to say. On another note, I hope your training continues to move your spirit in a positive direction. You’ve been working very hard, while conquering mental obstacles.  At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about.  I salute you!

O.k., now I’m going to cry.
