oh boy! First Surya is such an beautiful person (inside and out) and represents the IC with grace, class and strength (as do all the team members).

30 days away, you’re right, time to switch gears. Thanks for highlighting this fact!

  2. Steven says:

    Good point Renee.

Is there anyone interested in helping set-up or break down for the meet/party? This is going to be a huge event and any help would be appreciated. Please email me.

  3. Julie B says:

Hey, are there IC KB shorts????

  4. Renee says:

those shorts are cute, I was noticing that too Julie!

  5. Steven says:

The kettlebell shorts were given to the team by our generous sponsor Athleta.com. As a matter of fact, her entire outfit is Athleta gear.

  6. Shari says:

Steve, what is the schedule for the weekend? I need to arrange childcare ‘cuz my man will be in Beijing.

  7. Shari says:

Great photos from the Athleta demo! Thanks for sharing.

  8. Steven says:

We’ll start the competition at 10am. It will mostly likely run till 2pm if everyone is on time and we can get proficient judging in place. Rules explanation starts at 9:30am. Competitors should check in no later than 9:30am.

  9. Steven says:

By the way, for clarity’s sake, you may not switch bells during the set. Once you pick up the bell, you can’t drop it for any reason, including to switch weight.

  12. Bear Bear says:

wow Surya is calmingly sporting the purple bell and it looks effortless. That is amazing work and strength! Hope to be as good as you are someday Surya. :-)

  13. Shari says:

I heart Surya. And I remember her first day. She was a bad ass from the word go.

Thank you for the amazing support IC community. One of the many wonderful things I have discovered at the Ice Chamber is a community where individuals are truly encouraged to be their best. There are many times in my life where I have felt I have had to be less than my true potential in order to feel accepted. This is simply not the case at the IC. I have found a community where I can push myself to be the best athlete I can and still be accepted-what a gift! I am constantly inspired by all the wonderful and unique athletes here and cherish my time sweating with each of you!

  15. Mallory says:

Just dropping in to say I LOVE the new shorts :)

  16. Heidy C. says:

I just want to say that u are an inspiration to me and to the keetlebell team. Surya u rock!!!!!

  17. Steven says:

Surya, we love you for so many reasons, but mainly because Chris Duffy thinks you’re Master of Sports material ;-)

It’s an honor to be your friend!

  18. Bear Bear says:

Go for it Surya- I would love to say I train with a master of sport. Whoo hoo.

  19. Steven says:

Ladies, the shorts are on sale here.

  20. Renee says:

I’ve decided after reading Surya’s comment, she’s just poetry.

Take it all the way. Hey, there’s a pattern here…I’ve known Surya (she worked for me) since she was a wee one too- not 3rd grade swim like Jess and Sara, more like 17 yrs. old- She hasn’t changed, she was this awesome at 17 and had everyone swooning due to her integrity, compassion and beauty.

  21. Shari says:

If grace, determination and humility are prerequisites to becoming Master of Sport, Surya’s already well on her way.

  22. Calvin and Sherry says:

Wow – we would like to join in on the lovefest, too. Surya’s the bomb – simply put. We are lucky to be her comrade at the gym, and grateful that our son is in her loving wings during the day at Growing Light Montessori.
