This was by far one of the best things I've ever done. Without the support of everyone at the IC, I am absolutely sure that I NEVER would have completed that race. Rachel Q. and Julie B. were my constant training buddies. Rachel Q. ran the first 11 with me, letting me call all of the shots, all of the breaks, and let me set the (excruciatingly slow) pace. True generosity. And Julie B. ran all of the long training runs with me - 13, 15, 16, 18 miles! - even though it was not in her training plan. Incredible. I would not have made it without those 2 women. AND my best friend Amy drove all the way from Colorado to meet me at the finish line. I will never forget this experience. Ever. Around the 10th mile I wanted to die, my legs were cramping up and it was freezing and to top it off my period made an apperance...yes fellas I know I am sharing too much, but hey what can I say I do not have a mute button.
