I was there in the Therapy Pets contingent in the parade (helping a friend), albeit not in an IC shirt. Didn’t see any IC shirts when there, but did see a scooter with an IC logo taped on the front.
Here’s the complete story about Aidan’s adventures from Patty H:
—————————-
Hey Steve,
Thought I’d send you a bad pic/great story. Today, we spent our most harrowing moments as parents, 90 of them to be exact. We lost Aidan (in an instant) at the Solano Stroll for an eternity (actually, an hour and a half). It was hellish. Here’s where you come in.
Like good Chamber-ites, we had both kids in their Ice Chamber t-shirts, looking for a great photo-opp. The Albany Police, Berkeley Police, parents from Aidan’s school and other Chamberites that we ran into were all looking for him. Our description: 6 years old, brown hair with ‘bed head”, gray pants, Ice Chamber t-shirt. Everyone kind of nodded at the Ice Chamber part. pretty funny.
He spent his lost time strolling around, checking out the BHS Crew booth, fire engines, gathering stickers and tattoos before the BPD identified him and got in touch with us. Crazy. He wasn’t panicked; we were toast.
Anyhow, it was great to be able to be able to give an easily identifiable description to everyone who was on the lookout. And all turned out well in the end. This pic is with the cops who found him. We’ll be using it for family drills on what to do if he or Caroline ever gets lost in the future…
hope you’re having a good weekend.
take care,
patty.
