Seriously, Rune works that day :0 Can he and I do it another day? It does look fun, I think!
10 am on a Saturday? How civilized. How about crowning for best PR, too?
Are Bear and I a couple? Seriously, look at the muscles on the girl. She’s going to be one beastly, beautiful bride!!
Not a bad idea Adena… Let’s talk about this one!
No Rune and Renee? No way. We have to work something out… Adena, great idea! Brenda, excellent question. We just thought it was a cool picture because Bear is super ripped right now and I was too tired to find a cute picture of R & R snuggling near the rock wall.
Seriously, Bear, your back is epic!
so glad she’s wearing the cut clothes to go with the cut body! excuse me, I need a towel to wipe up the drool!
I think that is my head on someone else’s body!!!! Yikes.
Brenda I would love to be dubbed as a couple with you. Hehehe. Just don’t tell my soon to be husband because he might get jealous.
So, I was wondering what “couple” meant (besides 2 crazy people). Do you need to be married, engaged or otherwise partnered with your partner? Or should I be looking for a partner (who wants to row 2000 meters).
I’d like to buy a back just like that. I better put it on my wishlist for Santa.
One of my fave songs: Bear-Bear Got Back!
That’s a good question Shari. How should we define “couples?”
We are open to suggestions.
By the way, we need the official team names for everyone! A lot of you have RSVP’ed but have not given me the team name. Please input your info online here:

Thanks!
I think the only way to describe this lineup of events is evil, which is to be expected from Stevil. Is part of the decathlon that we are required to eat the food and drinks before, or can we wait until after?
Stevil – classic!
After an insightful discussion with Maya, we’ve changed event #9 from KB Snatches to Agility Obstacle Course. Two main reasons: 1) an unfair advantage to those that have been KB training 2) We want to reserve the Snatch as a unique event for the Fall KB Meet.
Well, I think the official couples should weigh in here about the definition of “couple.” And I’m also wondering if other single folks are interesting in competing as part of a team.
I heard a rumor the date might br changed since a bunch of us are running the Nike the next day…
(or is this is my perfect opportunity to wimp out!)
hard to imagine an IC decathlon w/out a single burpee….. isn’t that the “signature” IC activity?
Eric, I had the same thought. I was also surprised there was no rope wave.
The burpee would be good- but when we polled, no one was “excited” about doing it. Believe it or not, folks WANTED to do 2k on the rower, wrist roller, run a mile, BOSU squats, etc…
Same with the rope wave… most people said no way…
Not surprised about the burpees. But I love me some rope wave.
Rope wave. What’s that? Can we do that at 6:00 AM?
I’ll be there tomorrow. Btw, are you offering remedial training in the Tire sled since I missed that?
To qualify both team members must
(1) be current members of the ice chamber (for this and the last month at least)
AND
(2) must be ONE of the following:
__currently living at the same address (including apartment number)
__ be currently romantically involved with each other
__are close enough friends that they would be willing (and do) do each other’s laundry
OK, either this is a couples event or it’s a team event. I don’t care either way, but don’t call it a couples event if your definition of a couple is “pick the person who you know will allow you to win.”
COUPLE Two qualifications:
(1) both are current members of the Ice Chamber
and one of the following:
(a) romantically involved
(b) living together but not romantically involved
(c) close enough that you do each other’s laundry on a regular basis
The Decathlon starts on 9/18. The first event is the 2k erg race. Participants will have an opportunity to do this for the next 7 days (there will be exceptions). You can only have one try at each of the five events you pick.
