This picture reminds me why I don’t mess with her (my wife). I am making a copy of this picture and taping it somewhere I can always see. This way it will serve as a reminder not to mess with her. Because sometimes I make the mistake …. and mess with her. And… well…. you can see what happens.
I loooove this photo and the title. People often think of goddesses as these motherly figures – all soft and radiant. But many are fierce and, like Susan, “not to be messed with.” Only a necklace of, well, severed heads, could make Susan look more like Kali than she already does.
Susan sets the bar for all of us every day. She’s the real deal – doing every workout with great integrity, championing her fellow bootcampers, and always has a smile even at 6 AM.
Susan is amazing – she has my admiration for so many reasons on top of being the cornerstone of 6am. And her genuine encouragement and support always bolsters me right when I need it. I recently discovered that she has another natural talent: rock climbing (of course I wasn’t the least bit suprised.)
I {heart} Susan. I remember seeing her do pull-ups on my first day of boot camp last November & thinking she was such a bad ass! I worked up the nerve to talk to her & she was so sweet & supportive, encouraging me to try pull-ups everyday after class…
Douglas was apparently NOT scared enough of me to prevent him from sending this link to the entire Reeves-Harvey family and friends far and wide. yikes!
I don’t know what to say about the picture — but the comments cut to the core of me. Thank you all very much!
I love all of Ice Chamber — and there is no denying that my loyalty lies with 6 am!!!!
Goddess of the Dawn –indeed she is! Working out at 6AM ain’t easy. The few times I’ve worked out that early, I needed more energy. I usually look at Susan for inspiration. The photo says it all. Go Susan!
Susan Reeves is my hero! As is the case for many others, Susan was my inspiration for those first couple of sessions when I wasn’t sure what I had gotten myself into. She’s so fierce and intense, but still so kind and approachable. And those amazing baby blues, too!
I keep hoping that one day (after a TON of hard work) I might be as bad-ass, considering the name connection and all. A girl can dream.
Oh and Ross – don’t think we we missed that 10 count this morning…looks like double-digits to me!
Damn Steve,

See….I so scared I commented using her name
Susan is so bad ass and so quiet about it.

I saw Susan running, yes running, home today after Ice Chamber looking strong and fierce and thought, “How does she do it?”
LOVE that photo!
Doug- most wives are not to be messed with… especially those who kick ass like this everyday!

I love Susan! She’s my pull-up buddy. I look forward to the day when I can do double-digit pull-ups like she can! Go Susan!
