Mind Over Matter

Eduardo

Eduardo vowed to bring home a medal from the Pan American Championships despite a double dose of bad luck: a MCL tear on his knee (last month) and getting the flu a week prior to competition.

Under the extreme circumstances, Eduardo had to completely change his fight strategy, except for one aspect: staying positive. The result? Winning the silver medal in the Black Belt division!

Congratulations Eduardo!

Eduardo is very positive. The day he injured his knee (someone else actually did him in), he kept saying, “I’m going fight. I’m going bring home a medal.” For the next month or so, he would say this to me every time we met. Btw, one of the nicest guys you’ll meet.

    That’s amazing! Congratulation, Eduardo.

I got that darned flu yesterday, and I haven’t been able to get out of bed all stinking day. I can’t imagine what it must be like to medal in a Championship after both the injury and the illness.

    That’s one tough dude.
