Moving Along

As we roll through the season, progression can be measured by milestones relative to our starting points. What can you do today that you weren’t able to in January? What’s next on your list of physical feats?

Overhead squat and 5.11Bs!
It seems like there are approximately a million other exercises I want to/need to work on, but to name a few: dips, L-sit, handstand, figuring out when to breathe while doing push-ups & burpees, kipping, running, and my before the end of the year reach for the stars goal: muscle-up.
50 push ups (all at once without stopping with correct form) by 08/08/08… anyone care to join me in this challenge?
I’ll join you in the 50 push-up challenge, Mallory. Any other 1000ers care to take up this madness as well?
A pull-up! Just one before I die, and I can die a happy woman! (But of course by then I’ll be strong and healthy enough to live forever)
My fitness goal is to not get injured and do everything with integrity, even if it means it takes me FOREVER to finish a circuit. Oh, and I want to get bad ass at Kettle Bell sport.
Shari,
You’re already at bad ass. Though I agree with you that KB sport will make you even more bad ass
Your technique is looking very good!
The 50 push-ups sounds like a good challenge…
Last November, I could do maybe three or four real push-ups before having to switch to the half-ones. Now, four months later (I was away in December), I can do 30.
In January I could do half a pull-up. Now I can do four. Five on a good day. (A shout-out to Eric F., everybody’s favoirite encourager, enforcer(!), mentor and one man cheering squad!)
During one of the recent 7am pain-a-thons I managed 32 sit-ups in a minute or a minute and half. When I started, I probably would have been lucky to reach 15.
Not sure what else has improved, numerically speaking. Most of the time I’m panting too hard to pay proper attention!
Next goals: 7 pull-ups by the end of May. 30 mountain climbers in a row. (I HATE mountain climbers, so that will really mean something!) Less panting!
To be honest, I have no desire to do much KettleBell Sport. But a pull up – now that I wish I could do!! How many years have I been at the IC – 2 1/2? 3? (not that you’d know to look at my body). Still can’t do a pull up…
Hey Jennifer,
Practice makes perfect. You’ve got to try a few of them everyday if you want to get one.
