Lat-ivation

Activate the lats

Tonight’s pull-up clinic started with some isolation drills to re-educate the latissimus dorsi.

Mary M.

By the end of class, everyone’s lat strength improved 100%. Just ask Mary (looking stronger than ever).

got to say, Mary is so strong. Not only did she rock the kettlebell sport, but running the hurdles on Saturday- floating over them!

  2. Steven says:

    Renee,

You’re right on point with Mary. I remember her gliding over the hurdles like a hovercraft. You should have seen her tonight.

By the way, you’re going to be so ready when you get back. Watching the biomechanics from the sidelines will definitely improve your own skills dramatically.

  3. Jennifer Massie says:

Ooops… my brain told me tonight was Sunday night and I forgot to come to the gym. Tomorrow if all goes well, I’ll remember.

  4. Renee says:

yep, a hovercraft is Mary! Or a gazelle! She’s just coming into her own right now. It’s so fun watch others succeed. They stand differently and smile more.

While I wouldn’t wish anyone temporarily sitting on the sidelines, it is educational to watch all the little movements that make up the whole. Glad the bike has wheels so I’m not stuck in a corner! Plus Rune has a great true story about the mind, visualization, body connection that is inspiring. Thanks for the words of encouragement Steve!

Um, speaking of transformations, when are we getting an update on your lovely kick ass wife? Maya is looking hot, hot, hot!

  5. Steven says:

Would love to hear about Rune’s experience… You know Maya. She’s on fire right now, but you won’t hear her talk about it. Humility is her thing. However, she will tell you the truth about anything (especially the realness about fitness and weight loss) if you ask her. That’s why she’s the Jedi Master.

  6. Renee says:

ah yes! that’s why I heart Maya.

  7. Kerri says:

Renee, ask Maya about her cool new hot pants!!! I agree that she is looking fabulous!!!
    Go Mary!

  8. Baby Ks Momma says:

Yes, Kerri is correctomundo–my new skinny jeans are sooo HOT! (Photo to come later today… I promise)

Thanks for the love Renee. I agree, it is time to check-in with everyone… or rather, get checked by everyone!!!

  9. Rachel Q says:

I have been raving about Maya’s extra ravishing looks/bod lately so I’m glad I’m not the only one telling her how awesome she is! And more important than looks is the fact that she is such a bad-a** … even though those new kettlebells weigh about 3/4 of her body weight she swings those suckers around like they are marshmellows. Thanks for always being an inspiration, Maya!

  10. Shari Washburn says:

    Maya = hot hot hot

  11. Mary says:

A grasshopper is only as good as her teachers. Major props to my Jedi Masters and to the Ice Chamber cheering committee. I mean really – what girl wouldn’t want to be compared to a hovercraft or a gazelle! You guys have got me coming back for more – that’s for sure. :-)

  12. Steven says:

    Mary,

You are too humble. Your skills have gone through the roof in the past weeks. Is it the kettlebell sport bruising that’s making you better?

  13. Mary says:

Steve – don’t even get me started about kettle bells and bruises. But at least I have that backswing going for me….

  14. Baby Ks Momma says:

You do have a great back swing Mary–that’s the truth. I’m completely bruised up too btw!

  15. Baby Ks Momma says:

Rachel and Shari–I still have a long way to go, but I appreciate your encouragement big time! (I hope I soon look as great as you two mamas.)
