Modified Airclimber

Ah, the airclimber. Also known as “Flail from the bar.” Great for wrecking your abs and breaking your spirit, as you start by cycling your legs up in the air, and then watch them slowly sink closer to the floor against your will. But there is some hope in the airclimber. One tip is to start with your arms bent, like Shari. It’ll keep your legs higher and also showcase your sweet biceps (see photo.) Tip number two is to be gentle with yourself and track your progress: Sure, you may end up pumping your legs in the direction of the floor, but you probably kept them higher for a couple seconds longer. All steps on the airclimbing stairway to heavenly abs.

    The tip to keep a bend in the arms was invaluable – thanks Steve! It’s definitely a boost to be able to keep my legs up for a few seconds.

    I don’t get to see Shari very often since I’m a dark side (6am) bootcamper, but I always am in awe of what gorgeous shoulders she has. And what a great rack! I mean…great form!
