warms the cockles of my heart. maya and i are sisters in the cleaning work out! don’t forget the isometric squat picking crud off the floor, or cleaning around the toilet…

I’m right there with you on the vacuuming workout! If you want to really power up the workout you should try a Dyson ;)

  3. Kristin says:

I like to add what I call “frenetic mopping of the whole house” to my workout while toddler “helps” = wielding the swiffer like a lightsaber and playing with the bubbles all before she tips the entire bucket of suds everywhere…it’s really great for the lower back!

  4. Bear Bear says:

I like to extend this movement to the outside of the house with raking. Now that all the leafs in El Cerrito seem to blow into my front yard!

One of the very few benefits of my commute to Menlo Park is that I listen to oodles of NPR.

This blog thread reminded me of a recent story about hotel maids improving some of their health stats after learning that their amount of daily exercise exceeds the Surgeon General’s definition of an active lifestyle. Did this new information/positive mindset kick their bodies into shape when their physical condition previously didn’t seem to benefit from their exercise levels? (read/listen to the piece at: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=17792517)

Anyhow, it all just got me thinking…

Kick ass workouts at the IC: $10/visit.
Fantabulous coaching/community and resulting positive mindset: Priceless!

    Thanks everyone.

alright. I’ll leave you all alone about the hotel maid thing now…

  8. Lisa B says:

    So that’s your secret, Maya!
Is that guarantee only when you vacuum at the IC???

  9. Turbo says:

Ay Mujer! You and that vacum. That is nothing compared to when Maya vacuums and personal trains at the same time. Such a multi-tasker.

  10. C1 says:

Let me say that after class on Saturday Brenda did at least 20 minutes on the vacuum. Her form was impeccable. Thanks Brenda for making the IC floor lickable!

  11. Shari Washburn says:

I’ve had to add extra time to my workout now that there’s no food allowed in the office and I don’t have to vaccum up Etta’s crumbs.

  12. Steven says:

I admit that power-vacuuming is meditative.
