I admit I was dubious about the benefit of this particular exercise, but tried to be sporting about it during the bootcamp. Who would know that I would need this exact maneuver in my very own backyard today??

…is Julie Brady? We know her birthday just passed, but c’mon a day off? Unacceptable! Well, here are some of her fellow 7 a.m. bootcampers rockin’ the house as usual this morning anyway. Go superpeople!
Jess teaches the Core group new moves on Monday and Tuesday evenings. We think some of you Bootcampers are ready for this!
Many of you have asked me about my own training program. The truth is that the time I have available for exercise is very limited so I tend to work out during breaks between clients and classes. My training regimen is all over the place because I get bored with routines, but also because I try to combine things I enjoy with other things I consider weak links. So, for example, instead of doing 50 overhead squats, I prefer to do a series of power snatches mixed with lateral hops, given the same amount of time. For the most part, I refer to these exercise compilations (mixing up one or more primary foundational movements with an auxiliary movement) as complex training. This video highlights my take on our integrative approach.
Cheers,
Steven

To get an indication of your muscle fiber type, try using a small parachute during your sprints. Whether or not the parachute opens immediately after your first few steps is a tell tale sign.

People are always asking IC members what they eat. Inevitably, the answer always includes lots of vegetables. But what do you do if you don’t really know how to prepare vegetables? If your only culinary secrets involve a lot of butter or melted cheese, then eating your daily allotment of IC-sanctioned veggies can be daunting (and downright boring or disgusting depending on which side of the vegetable spectrum you fall). But there are plenty of people out there eating tons of leafy greens and really enjoying them. So, please, share with the rest of us. What are your veggie secrets? Criteria: your tricks must be easy/quick and tasty. Unusual ingredients are o.k., especially if we can use them over and over again.
