6 a.m. Takes the Lead

We have a shocking new contender in first place: our new bootcamper Kirstie (in purple)! By the sixth round we had our eyes on her neighbor Patty Harper, so we almost missed Kirstie’s win by assuming she quit early. Then, we mistakenly called it a tie because their times were so close, but noooooo… Kirstie actually finished first! (Big thanks to Kirstie’s judge for clarifying the sequence of events.)
But, the real question is whether Surya is willing to give up the gold that easily. Are the top 3 guys willing to be beaten by the ladies? Stay tuned…
Latest Standings:
Top 3 females:
Kirsten Piroth (0600) – 1:27
Patty Harper (0600) – 1:27.5
Mars Stone (0600) – 1:36
Top 3 males:
Jeff Dibiase (Core) – 1:38
Chris Brawer (0930) – 1:40
Peter Fredell (0930) – 1:41
Keep in mind, the top 3 overall times are owned by 0600 ladies using the same 5 lb. weight as the guys! How is that possible?

NOOOOOOOBODY beats the 6 a.m. crowd! Nobody! Notice that in addition to Iron Girl Kirstie, Patty and Mars are, at heart, 6 a.m. women (even though they may show up elsewhere from time to time). Bonus: If you can roll out of bed that early and still be awake to run a few parking lot laps, you’ve already got the world beat.
Okay- Mars, Patty, and Kirstie are animals (it’s a compliment, lions perhaps?). I have to admit that their times are beyond my realm of reality right now. I think my palms would ignite going that fast.
Let me just say that Patty Harper scares me every week by doubling up on Thursday Night Core and Friday Morning Bootcamp. And she’s only getting faster and stronger every time I see her. What have we created?
I’m scared to come back…..
The bar just got raised higher!! Congratulations to all the ladies and gentlemen who participated. You all have one more day left….will any of the top 6 attempt to beat their own record again?
That’s the fun of challenges, you always think “no one will be able to beat that time – that would be insane” and then DAMN, someone does the impossible.
Nice work everyone!!!
How did it go at 7:00? Even if there aren’t any place holders, how did people do anyway? I know there were some stellar performances at 9:30, even if they weren’t records.
0700 did really well, but got stage jitters. Some came close to top three. However, the times set by 0600 were just really stellar. 0930 was on fire. Kate – 2:11, Renee – 1:56, Hayley – 1:53, Shari – 1:50. Those are the ones I can remember off the top. One more day to crown the champs.
Kate had 2:11? I totally missed that. Awesome. But, indeed, 6:00 rules right now. I might have to come at 6 a.m. to congratulate them. IF I could just get up that early…
Can Surya shave 11 seconds off her time? I’m on the edge of my seat.
Oh, and uh, yeah, the women are kicking butt. Was there ever any doubt?
ok, everyone rocks ! Everyone rules! and competition as cool and supportive as all this is truly wonderful. I just started going to Core a few nights and naah, my loyalty isn’t shifting but damn, what a fun, smiley and super strong crew. IC women, gooooo!
