Congrats to Eva on a well earned t-shirt. Beautiful and tough as nails, can you believe she has only been coming for three months? She must have been a ninja before she joined the IC.
Tonight was definitely a one way trip to the Dark Side. How do you know you’ve been to the DS?
1. Your body shakes
2. You hit muscle failure (note: muscle failure is not the same as quitting. It is more like when you attempt a push up and do a face plant instead)
3. You have a metallic taste in your mouth and you feel like you have a hot poker from your sternum to your stomach
4. You feel like you have had 10 shots of espresso
5. You think you are going to throw-up in the middle of the set but you breathe through it (or you give in but then keep going)
6. Your brain says “I can’t do this†“I can’t do this†but you tell it to shut its pie hole
7. Your max heart rate is 189 and your resting heart rate is 177 (because there is no real rest)
8. You have a choice to either quit or keep going and even though everything in you is screaming to quit, you press on
9. You would ice afterwards but they don’t make a full body ice pack
I’ve never had “puke encouragement” like that before! That core class last night made morning bootcamp feel like vacation. It really should be called the hard core class for dark siders. Growing up in Minnesota we called the “goth” kids “dark siders” so my mind conjures up images of people in workout gear with dark black hair and white faces, deep red lips and black eye liner. Halloween is coming soon….
Congrats Eva! And congrats to Elsa this morning for taking it to the dark side as well…you guys keep on rocking this house. Hmmm….Steve, Maya, I think we need more t-shirts….and we need to add another one that says ‘I’ve been to the Dark Side, and I survived!’
Yes, last night was very goth night. Tracy, I had that metallic thing last night too. And as for muscle failure, I think that was the first time I have ever done a push up with out bending my arms. It was more like lat flexing. But the thing that made last night soooo dark for me was that there wasn’t time to think. My brain wanted to hook on to something and try to gring my effort to a hault. But there just wasn’t a chance between counting reps and breathing and trying to will my arms to bend just a little bit…
Eva was humble about it…noone woulda known. Tracy, now I know you are genetically linked to Kelly, not only for your great bodies, but the writing about it.
Steven, hmmmm. The dope dealers told me they saw me on TV this week….They stopped me while I was walking my dog… I was feeling overly exposed and vulnerable is all. Ok, now this is sounding like therapy. Heidi is a fireball ! I didn’t want to disappoint her.
Eva-you are outstanding! Look at that beautiful form and position!
Eva is such a bad ass. She was my partner tonight and let me tell you, she performs as if she’s been at the IC for years.

Did I miss anything?
Nice job Eva!
Hmmm… the dark side, gotta think about that…
Tracy- as I was taking a shower tonight I yelled out to Rune, get me an ice pack please and then oh ya, they don’t make a full body ice pack!
my first attempt at that bar I wanted to quit. Then I saw you and Eva and Shari and Rune and everyone else and thought try it. It was fun.
Steve- yup, The Ice Chamber….go to the dark side-or something like that for the next t shirts!
Eva-were you with Cirque de something? Jedi knight? that’s it Yoda thought you!
Holy cow Tracy. You didn’t tell me all that during the session. We could’ve kept it going longer.
Welcome home Eva!
Thanks for the t-shirt idea Renee!
Go Eva…you rock. I am thrilled to see you get up and do that shit!
Go Eva!
wow! look at those beautiful arms!

Mary,
Speaking of humble, why were you hiding in the picture? You and Heidi won 2 outta 4 events!
