Here’s some fast-twitch action of Newton, our 2x Brazilian National Judo Champion.
These are clips of him training for and fighting in two of his most recent competitions. At The Battle of the Bay Submission Grappling Tournament, Newton took home the gold medal by submitting all his opponents. At the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Championships, Newton again submitted everyone in his way to the semi-finals before a suspicious referee gave the critical match point to Newton’s opponent (who ultimately became the World Champion). Enjoy!

that is some great sport specific training! Steve – as usual you are spot on in your training, we’re all lucky to have you as our Coach
so great to see, inspiring for us regular folks and congrats to Netwon!
Now the kids are singing “time bob ticking” on the way to school!
Awesome video and big cudos to Newton. Makes me want to work out right now.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone step-up and jump off a box like that before.
Congrats to Newton. I love watching the transisiton between the sport specific training and its actual application on the mat. Very cool.
Congrats to Newton. One bad ass guy and still very humble.
Newton is one of the nicest person you will meet. His humility is his greatest strength; next to his “never give up” attitude. Definitely, one of the most “battle-tested” athletes I’ve trained. His t-shirt earning ability is second to none.
That was a great video – i loved the inversions on the pull-up bar. Awesome. Best wishes in competition.
Very cool, I really liked the resistance band exercises that simulate Judo throws and take-downs.
