Young and Tough

Fritz and Etta

You can always tell the next generation of IC trainers by the look in their eyes. These young Ice Cubes are happily lounging in the office, ignoring the screams of the martyrs in the next room.

Although they were mostly hypnotized by a video in this particular moment, Etta broke the trance just to make clear that SHE is OLDER.

We really do have the best group of the next generation. Kind and considerate of each other and a little sheepish to interupt what’s going on in the next room. And yet, they seem to feel they own the place and let us come to visit! And they make it all look like playtime.

It is amazing to think how physical fitness can be “naturalized” for these kids in a way that I never saw around me growing up.

One’s gotta deduce that whether they run to it — or run away from it — they will be FAMILIAR with the empowering effects of this level of fitness. That’s gotta be good!

Thanks Ice Chamber — for welcoming these little ones. (In such a comfortable way… a type comfort that I am certainly NOT familiar with at IC!)

I just envy you parents who have kids who are so well behaved that they will stay put during an hour of group training. They are so quiet and nice; they never interrupt!

Whenever I have brought one of my boys to one of our private sessions, they are so rambunctious that Steve ends up having to carry them on his back to keep them out of trouble…. Of course, there is some satisfaction in giving Steve a workout also…but Steve always gets his revenge….

FWIW, Lan-Ling, it’s not that Etta doesn’t interrupt (wait, she’s calling me again, be right back) but that TV is like a drug for her. One hit and she’s gone.

Always so grateful that Steve and Maya like kids and have a “kid-friendly” facility (and that my kid zones out with a movie). I wouldn’t be able to make as many classes without their generosity.

Gustaf (Lan-Ling’s 1st boy) is a hybrid of a backpack and leech. Once he is strapped around your neck, he’s stuck there until you lose consciousness from a lack of blood flow to the brain.

Ivy is like, umm… ivy. She’s a climbing stem that tangles around your body , and quite deadly like its berries, which rippens in the winter (ice reference of course), when it comes to programming workouts.

A lot of evil shared between the two. You gotta love em.
