Swan Song

Bootcampers do musicals. Core class folks do ballets. Here’s Mariana and Eric rehearsing a scene from an upcoming production of “Swan Lake”. Of course, we do it Chamber-style, so the poetic dying swan scene involves partner assisted glute-ham raises, where the prince holds the swan queen’s feet while she free-falls into a bent-arm push-up position, and then uses her hamstrings and glutes to immediately spring right back to life. Over and over.

Mariana, you are a beautiful swan with razor sharp wit! I’ll really miss working with you in class and also having random conversations about French films and drug-dealing economies. Seriously you are the best.
Not only is she the swan queen, but a humble, gentle, and powerful spirit. A true comrade to the end.
Mariana,
Saying that your presence will be missed is an understatement. It’s irreplaceable. Best wishes to you and Brad in Florida. We hope you visit often!
Mariana-so going to miss your funny asides! and your ability to jump higher than most!!!
Mariana,
I will miss your warmth & humor! I wish you the very best in Florida and on all your future endeavors!
Mariana,
I’ll miss watching you bust out pull-ups like it was nothing. I hope Florida is good to you. You’ll get used to the humidity eventually. But maybe not the politics.
Best wishes!
Mariana…I wont say much, you’ve heard it all already. But I am going to do my damnest to find Brad a tenureship here in the East Bay…so its not good-bye, we will see you again soon! But until then, I will miss our girls night conversations and your Russian common sense and humour! Please come back soon!
Don’t go!!!
