About Us
Founders
The Ice Chamber was founded by Steven Khuong, CSCS and Maya Garcia, CSCS. They are both certified coaches through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), the most respected international athletic and fitness organization in the industry. Together they have helped people of all ages and conditions surpass their fitness goals; their clientele spans the entire health spectrum, from beginners to professional athletes. They also hold the prestigious position of CEU/CEC Provider as approved by National Academy of Sports Medicine and American Council on Exercise to grant continuing education units / credits to professionals in the fitness industry.
Steven and Maya earned their undergraduate degrees from the University of California at Berkeley and still believe in the tradition of applying research in real world environments. They took with them what was most useful from their personal experiences with bodyweight conditioning, sports specific training, bodybuilding, martial arts, and kettlebell lifting — incorporating a training style that enhances functional capacity while improving physical composition.
Steven and Maya are Club Coaches with USA Weightlifting (USAW, a member of the United States Olympic Committee), WKC Kettlebell Lifting Coaches, and they are the head coaches of the Ice Chamber Kettlebell Sport Team, the most successful Kettlebell Sport team in the nation. Steven is also a Level I Coach with USA Track and Field (USATF, U.S. Olympic Committee, NCAA, and NAIA).
Testimonial:
“The Ice Chamber is dialed into performance enhancement and body efficiency. You can tell that their goal is to help you perform better at your sport (as a mixed martial artist and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete, I appreciated their understanding of combatives and functional conditioning). I am a HUGE fan of their philosophy. On top of being content experts, Steven and Maya’s enthusiasm is contagious. They know how to motivate you beyond your comfort zone. Anyone who trains at the Ice Chamber is going to see big gains.”
